So who had a good time at Middle Wallop 2006?

Postby SafeMonkey » Wed May 31, 2006 12:40 am

Well i had the best time :D .I thought Wallop this year was so much better than last year.

Had a great time with my Blade3 6.6 and kava deck ,boy do them blades pull hard at the edge when you get some speed up  .

Managed to get Iveta(choccimonkey) up and boarding. She seems to be picking it up very quick but I'm still knackered from running up and down that field for her :)

I was really excited about the kite film festival.couldn't believe it when i saw my film being played on a 30 foot outdoor screen  .
Team Couch Posse won.there film was very funny.i liked it when they were getting traction on there couch  .Met some good people too.

the toilets were better this year or was i just lucky?.

this year we had Betty(our little caravan), so we stayed in luxury too 8) .
it cant get much better than this ,roll on Wallop3 2007.
Good news Wallop is back!!

I just posted some pics up in the Library of the kids at wallop, its a bit of a buzz Lucas flying for the first time. Thanks there Rob. And Carrie and Dan a special thanks for loaning Lucas your kite, really nice of you. Im sure Luacs is gonna remeber that when he takes the title ha ha !!

Ive finaly made up my mind re the single line/two line thing, im gonna get him a single line box kite to fly on his own, but fly Carrie's 0.8 metre buzz with him also, that way he gets to fly on his own, and learn with me too. Curzon any advice on which brand makes good box kites, the bigger ones are more stable right ? Are HQ ones any good ?

Got to admit it was a bit hard work this year with the two kids, but then I got a secret plan to make that kind of thing easier in future, hopefuly should be put in place soon.

Thanks to all those who helped, particularly when we arrived, dont think ive seen a tent put up so fast !

I'm thinking of having a summer solstice kiters barbie here, kind of Like last year, but this time we'll open up the front room and kitchen too so theres a bit more space. There's been a little bit of friction between some of the monkeys recently - hell maybe nothing better than a summer party to break down some walls ?

anyway, now summers here got to dip the feet in the water soon...

"dont you mean traction" ha ha, I like that, good way to look at it......

I got to say Rob u were on top form - really enjoyed our stoned chat that night, though i think we were geting choci monkey a bit concerned as to how much bollocks we could talk :!:

Yeh I seen the clip on the flexifoil site that murray found, its really cool. I got a little clip of him flying the one liner, ill post up soon.

Marquis and Ben was good seeing u guys too, was a good vibe going on last summer, lets see if we can all get that momentum going again this year, we got even more members now so should be a good one.

Hey Shane, dont forget, next monkey booze up your drinks are on me :!:

Yep I think a summer party could be in order ?

see all of u up the hill soon :)

Wallop3 here we come!

Postby swissmonkey » Wed May 31, 2006 2:16 pm

Great event - really got to learn to board at full speeeeeeeed and also carve upwind (power kite up gently (yello handle) if you have a flysurfer and want to be more efficient getting upwind).

Got to have a go on a 10 speed which was very fun and scary as well as the new Pulse - thx Toni!

I have some good pictures though not enough - will be more active on this front and less hangin around the bottom of the runway in the windshadow!

Thx for a great weekend to all and especially Master James for driving us and we should have a party soon to adjust the traction!!

So who is up for weekends camping at camber and checking out gower Peninsula over summer???????

Definatly up for a trip to Camber soon Curzon, probably go without the wife and kids this time.

Pontins is always an option to u know, u get some pretty good deals for long weekends outside the school holidays, though camping would be nice as well. Whats this about a solar powered shower - sounds spot on, u should have got it going at wallop.

I think im bringing the surf board and wet suite next time we go down there ! But I might send the flysurfer off to get fixed properly first.

Tone think its still slightly iffy, seems to be flying ok, but couple of times ive let go and it was still fully powered up, almost took a buggy guys head off at wallop ! Something on the lines is catching i think.
